Your Surgical Checklist

Print out this page, then use the checklist below to help remind you what to do before and after your surgery. Ask your health care provider to check the boxes that apply to you. After your surgery, be sure to keep walking. Try to walk a little more each week. That way you can ease back into activity safely.

Before Your Surgery

  • See your doctor. Have any tests that your doctor orders.
  • Stop smoking or cut down.
  • Stop taking aspirin and ibuprofen ______ days before surgery.
  • Stop eating and drinking as instructed before surgery.
