Dr. Carlson joined Orthopedic Institute in 1983. After completing his residency at Mayo Clinic, he spent an additional year at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for advanced training in pediatric orthopedics and scoliosis. Dr. Carlson completed advanced training in adult spine surgery at the Institute for Low Back Care in Minneapolis. Dr. Carlson's special interests are in adult spine surgery, pediatric orthopedics, and total joint replacement as well as general orthopedics.
